🌄 4-DAY ITINERARY: KUMRAT VALLEY, JAHAZ BANDA & KATORA LAKE

🗓 Day 1: Islamabad – Thal – Kumrat Valley

• Departure: Early morning from Islamabad (around 4:00–5:00 AM)
• Route: Islamabad → Dir → Thal (~10–12 hours by car)
• Stops:
  • Lowari Tunnel (scenic, snow-capped mountains)
  • Thal Town – Last main town before the valley (fuel, food, 4×4 rental)
• Switch to Jeep: From Thal to Kumrat (~1.5–2 hours off-road)
• Activities:
  • Camp setup beside Panjkora River
  • Bonfire + Dinner in the valley
• Overnight: Camping or local huts in Kumrat

🗓 Day 2: Kumrat Valley Exploration + Drive to Jandrai Village

• Morning Activities:
  • Visit Kala Chashma, forest trails, riverwalks
  • Explore Dojanga & Kumrat waterfall
• Afternoon: Jeep ride from Kumrat to Jandrai village (gateway to Jahaz Banda trek)
  • ~1–1.5 hours of bumpy jeep ride
• Overnight: Local guesthouse or camp in Jandrai

🗓 Day 3: Trek to Jahaz Banda + Katora Lake Trek

• Morning:
  • Start trek to Jahaz Banda (~3–4 hours, moderate difficulty)
  • Rest, lunch at Jahaz Banda meadow
• Afternoon: Optional hike to Katora Lake
  • ~2.5 hours (one way) from Jahaz Banda
  • Lake surrounded by snow-capped peaks — great for photos & rest
• Evening: Return to Jahaz Banda camp/guesthouse
• Overnight: Camp or hut in Jahaz Banda

🗓 Day 4: Return Trek + Travel Back to Islamabad

• Morning: Trek back to Jandrai (~2–3 hours)
• Jeep ride back to Thal
• Drive to Islamabad (Reach by late evening/night)

📦 What to Pack

• Warm clothing (weather drops fast, even in summer)
• Hiking shoes
• Sleeping bag & tent (if camping)
• Water bottles, snacks, power bank
• Basic first-aid kit
• Raincoat or poncho (mountain weather is unpredictable)

⚠️ Important Tips

• 4×4 is a must beyond Thal
• Always hire local guides for Katora Lake trek
• Network coverage is minimal; inform family before entering valley
• Carry cash (no ATMs past Dir/Thal)
